ENROLLMENT

HISTORY

Howard Fine moved to Los Angeles in 1985 from New York City, where, since the age of 24, was the head of the Acting Department at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy - the youngest educator to hold such a prominent position. While still in college he recognized his gift and calling as an educator and director.

He began devoting his talents to developing the most effective methods to teach the craft and artistry of acting to actors. He developed the "Basic Technique" course in New York as a 12-month program and since the move to Los Angeles, he has endeavored to distill and refine it over the years to its present state as a 12-class / 6-week highly intensive and accelerated "Comprehensive Technique" class.

With an impressive reputation, he arrived in Los Angeles and quickly introduced himself to entertainment industry executives, who readily accepted his challenge to elevate the performances of their clients. In fact, his move to Los Angeles was motivated by seeing an overwhelming number of talented actors limited with little or insubstantial acting craft. Beginning with private coaching in his living room, his reputation spread rapidly as one of the premier acting coaches, successfully elevating the work of high profile actors and new talent alike.
