American Accent

Mastering Your American Accent with David Coury was created to help you “sound American” for your own communication needs, whether in acting or anywhere. David Coury’s approach to accent reduction is not reduction but “addition.” Knowing what to add to your pronunciation, and how to add it, is everything with the American Accent. At every turn, Mr. Coury customizes the course for you and your mouth muscles by breaking the American Accent down and making it immediately doable and enjoyable.

American Accent Online

Right from the start, Mr. Coury does an initial Speech Analysis of your American Accent to identify its strengths and weaknesses. He demonstrates how your muscles can easily make the American sounds that elude you, and points out sounds you might not be aware of but that you already make that are “American.”

You will learn in real time how to add the prominent features of an American Accent by physically focusing on:

  • American Mouth Movement
  • American Pronunciation
  • American Intonation
  • American Phrasing

Throughout the course, Application Exercises are created for individual practice between sessions based on Mr. Coury’s ongoing Speech Analysis of your progress. Take the worry out of the equation by being personally taught how to physically “add the American.”

AdvanceD levels & Ongoing Study

Upper level American Accent training classes are offered periodically and continue the work from level 1 to help you improve your communication and open up more possibilities. In between sessions and in an ongoing capacity, students may be able to work privately with Mr. Coury on their American Accent by contacting the studio directly.
