The Business of Acting class will equip actors with the essential knowledge and strategies to navigate getting auditions, landing agents, impressing casting directors, and nailing their job on set. From securing representation and booking their first job to becoming series regulars, every step of a professional actor’s journey is clearly outlined in this comprehensive guide to industry success.
THE BUSINESS OF ACTING COURSE CONSISTS OF LECTURES, DISCUSSIONS, GROUP EXERCISES, AT-HOME ASSIGNMENTS, AND INDIVIDUALIZED ASSESMENTS. TOPICS TO BE COVERED INCLUDE HEADSHOTS AND DEMO REELS, BOOKING WITH SELF-TAPES, IDENTIFYING TYPE, GETTING AGENTS AND MANAGERS, WRITING THE PERFECT COVER LETTER, PROFESSIONAL AND EYE-CATCHING RESUMES, NETWORKING, MOVING FROM CO-STAR TO SERIES REGULAR ROLES, UNDERSTANDING ON SET TERMS AND CULTURE, AND MUCH MORE.

IS THIS CLASS JUST FOR BEGINNERS?
This class is designed for any actor who feels stuck in their career. Perhaps you have landed many guest star roles, but can’t seem to make your way to booking a series regular part. This Business of Acting class will help you navigate road blocks regardless of where you are at in your career.
WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE REPRESENTATION?
Kyle and Jonathan work with actors at all stages in their careers. If you already have representatives, the team will be helping you find ways into more casting offices with a focus on turning more auditions into bookings. Unless you are a series regular currently on a show, this class will benefit you.
IS THERE HOMEWORK INVOLVED?
Any good class will require investment from the actor. If you have been neglecting to reach out to an agent, manager, or casting director, this class will help you get it done. While there will not be homework due every class, there will be necessary assignments to ensure you can achieve all your business goals.
HOW DOES THIS CLASS WORK?
Classes are held over Zoom. Four classes are taught by Jonathan Del Arco and the other four are taught by Kyle Fritz. The very last class will be one-on-one with Kyle for a final submission review, individual marketing assessment, and advanced career planning.
