Acting Technique
Taught in person at our Los Angeles studio!
The 6-Week Acting Technique program covers the foundations of acting technique as well as an introduction to scene study. This is the preferred class for all students to begin with at the studio, and is taught by Howard Fine and David Coury.
6-Week Acting Technique includes:

Uta Hagen’s Object Exercises
Personalization
Sensory work
Emotional recall
Concentration
How to handle nerves
Addressing individual habits and common mistakes
Working on assigned material
Intro to scene study
This course exclusively addresses the craft of acting as a whole, adding necessary skills to the actor's toolbox to not only aide the actor in booking the job, but nailing the role on set or on stage.

*Actual duration of any given class is subject to change. Classes may run longer than expected depending on the demands of the material that day. Please plan for an average of 3-4 hours and let your stage manager know of any conflicts.*
Plan to be available for ALL classes. If you know ahead of time that you are unavailable for a particular class date, please wait to take this class until your schedule fully permits. The first three days of class may NOT be missed, and any actors who cannot attend them will not be permitted to take the course at this time.

REQUIREMENTS
ALL STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO OBTAIN A COPY OF BOTH HOWARD’S BOOK, FINE ON ACTING: A VISION OF THE CRAFT, AND UTA HAGEN’S A CHALLENGE FOR THE ACTOR. BOTH THESE BOOKS ARE REQUIRED READING FOR THE 6-WEEK ACTING TECHNIQUE CLASSES EXCEPT FOR YOUTH STUDENTS.
STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL SCHEDULED CLASSES.
HOW IT WORKS
UPON RECEIPT OF PAYMENT, PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION E-MAIL WITH A RECEIPT. ANOTHER WELCOME EMAIL WILL BE SENT CLOSER TO THE START DATE WITH INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS, ASSIGNMENTS, AND OTHER DETAILS.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL. PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED BEFORE THE CLASS START TIME TO BE PERMITTED ENTRY INTO THE COURSE. SOME COURSES MAY REQUIRE A DEPOSIT AND REMAINING BALANCES DUE BEFORE ADMITTANCE- PLEASE SEE SPECIFIC RULES REGARDING DEPOSITS IN OUR terms and conditions.
