Alexander Technique Intensive

This 2-Day Intensive takes place in person at our Los Angeles studio and is taught by AmSAT certified Alexander Technique teachers, Jennifer Schulz & Nick George.

As actors, your body is your instrument and its well-being is vital to the work. The Alexander Technique is essential training for actors, covering everything from movement on stage and camera, to eliminating habits and achieving stillness, to saving yourself unnecessary strain by coming into natural, healthy alignment.

In this introductory weekend intensive workshop, enjoy a deep dive into the foundational principles of the Alexander Technique and how they can help you in your work and life. Leave with experiential understanding and actionable tools to have you feeling more grounded, supported, and energized. Learn to:

  • ENHANCE PRESENCE IN PERFORMANCE

  • MINIMIZE PHYSICAL HABITS THAT HOLD PERFORMERS BACK

  • FIND STILLNESS AND POWER WITHIN ACTION

  • DISCOVER NATURAL ALIGNMENT, BALANCE, FREEDOM, EASE IN MOVEMENT

  • RELEASE OUT OF UNHELPFUL PATTERNS OF THINKING

  • EASE TENSION AND PAIN IN YOUR BODY- GREAT FOR BACK/NECK/JOINT PAIN SUFFERERS TOO

This intensive covers the first half of our 8-week course, but condensed into two days! It’s a great option for those whose schedules wouldn’t typically allow for a full 8-week program.

The Alexander Technique work is considered “hands-on,” meaning the instructors may use touch and gentle physical guidance to help uncover patterns of muscular tension. If you have injuries, or are concerned about this aspect of the work for any reason accommodations can be made. Please inform the teachers and/or the studio before class instruction begins. The Alexander Technique is considered a movement modality and the studio and instructors are not liable for injury.
