Whether on stage or on screen, Actors must play scenes that require going to Vocal Extremes. From screaming to talking through Extreme emotion & exertion, this class teaches how to go to Vocal Extremes more effectively and safely. And what makes this class even more exciting and enlightening, the Actor is given the opportunity to execute each Extreme within a Scene both On Camera and On Stage. The goal is that the Actor walks away with a new understanding of the dynamics of Vocal Extremes in both Acting mediums.

Mr. Coury puts it simply: “The mastery of going to Vocal Extremes lies in playing it safe and sounding as if you’re not!”
In this liberating class, the Actor learns how to approach each Extreme with accuracy while in support of the Scene’s action:
Screaming
Shouting
Whispering
Choking
Vomiting
Grunting
Sobbing
And in order to optimize the Extremes, Mr. Coury takes you through specific exercises that stretch and strengthen your Voice.
Also, this is a terrific class for those who have trouble relinquishing control, letting go, and taking up space.

REQUIREMENTS
ALL STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO OBTAIN A COPY OF BOTH HOWARD’S BOOK, FINE ON ACTING: A VISION OF THE CRAFT, AND UTA HAGEN’S A CHALLENGE FOR THE ACTOR. BOTH THESE BOOKS ARE REQUIRED READING FOR THE 6-WEEK ACTING TECHNIQUE CLASSES EXCEPT FOR YOUTH STUDENTS.
STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL SCHEDULED CLASSES.
HOW IT WORKS
UPON RECEIPT OF PAYMENT, PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION E-MAIL WITH A RECEIPT. ANOTHER WELCOME EMAIL WILL BE SENT CLOSER TO THE START DATE WITH INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS, ASSIGNMENTS, AND OTHER DETAILS.
