Youth Acting Class (6 classes): Ages 10-14
This class takes place over Zoom and is taught by Gina Simms.
Youth Acting Class is a 6 class "Actor's Gym" where students work specifically and correctly. Scenes are given during class with no homework, and nothing to prepare before class begins. Students are redirected in their second read and will learn how to properly take direction (whether it be from casting or a director on set) without getting in their heads and losing authentic connection.
This course is dedicated to the working actor between jobs to keep their acting muscles in shape! Young artists strengthen script analysis, and in a short time behave truthfully with full connection to the material. The performer’s ability to bring themselves to any role given is the goal of this course.
Prerequisite: Acting Technique.

Class runs for 1.5- 2 hours each week.

REQUIREMENTS
ALL STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO OBTAIN A COPY OF BOTH HOWARD’S BOOK, FINE ON ACTING: A VISION OF THE CRAFT, AND UTA HAGEN’S A CHALLENGE FOR THE ACTOR. BOTH THESE BOOKS ARE REQUIRED READING FOR THE 6-WEEK ACTING TECHNIQUE CLASSES EXCEPT FOR YOUTH STUDENTS.
STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL SCHEDULED CLASSES.
HOW IT WORKS
UPON RECEIPT OF PAYMENT, PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION E-MAIL WITH A RECEIPT. ANOTHER WELCOME EMAIL WILL BE SENT CLOSER TO THE START DATE WITH INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS, ASSIGNMENTS, AND OTHER DETAILS.
